A boy genius goes on dangerous missions as the world's youngest spy, while trying to keep his side job hidden from his parents and classmates.

Willy, seven years old, is more interested in books than sports while his father, ex-football star, is determined to make a football player out of him. Willy realizes that he cannot live up to his father's expectations but feels compelled to give him what he always wanted. One day, Willy finds a solution to the problem.

Bobby Henrey, the amazing juvenile star of The Fallen Idol, is here cast as 7-year-old musical genius Sebastian Giro. Mistreated by his avaricious adult manager, Sebastian runs away to a remote Alpine village. He then falls into the hands of a gang of kidnappers, led by the basically sympathetic Jack.

The story takes places just after the Civil War, with hostilities between Yanks and Rebels still in effect between Kansas and Texas. The villain, cattle rustler Vic Landreau (Paul Sutton), intends to play both factions down the middle for his own benefit. But Landreau meets his match in the form of wandering do-gooder Jud Calvert (Charles Starrett).

Arriving at the gang's hideout the Dawson ranch, Red discovers that the counterfeiting ring is headed by Mrs. Randall's attorney J. Richard Spencer and Dawson himself.
